ARDNAMURCHAN : We round mainland Scotlands most westerly point

Winds picked up during the night and we woke to a forecast of F5/6 from the east and a wind against tide until 13.30. We decided to delay launching from Kinlochan until midday and catch the tide stream flow around the point. Towards lunchtime the wind started to ease and we launched with a F4 on our backs which created some confused sea to the east of the Point but as we rounded conditions improved markedly and we kayaked passed mainland Scotlands most westerly point in near perfect conditions.

Rounding the Point we were met by one of the most beautiful beaches and views we've experienced on our journey so far.

After all the thoughts and planning that went into Ardnamurchan which has a fierce reputation, the day had gone really well with a stunning end sat drinking coffee, eating homemade flapjack to the sights of Rum, Eigg and Muck in front of us
