2022 and Our First Major Donation in Northumberland

Updated: Feb 18, 2022

Following the devastating impact of Storm Arwen the plight of CC Outdoor Adventures for All in Howick Northumberland came to our attention. I had been aware of the work they were doing and in particular Mark Tuff at the Forest School with all age groups from School kids through to adults. It was a shock to see the wholesale destruction that Arwen had brought to the site and in just a few hours of hurricanes force winds all activities and hopes for the future had been shattered.

We decided to make an initial donation of £4000 to Mark to enable clear-up work and rebuilding to start once professional tree surgeons had been in to remove hung up and dangerous trees.

Mark told us

"funds will be used to improve and rebuild a more robust freestanding infrastructure for the Forest School that will be accessible to everyone regardless of ethnicity, ability or background. A place where anxiety, ability or mental health isn't stigmatised and a haven of peace and tranquility to allow an engagement with Nature and a place where you'll find your soul"

We will be watching with great interest as the Forest School rises from Arwen's destruction and will I am sure be working with Mark further to see how we can help him and his team develop Mental Health projects that we can all be proud to support in Northumberland.
